Plasma (Blood)

Definition:

Plasma is the liquid component of blood.

Plasma gives blood its ability to carry certain nutrients and chemicals, and provides the transport medium for red blood cells (which carry oxygen).

The volume, or total amount, of plasma is an important factor in determining overall blood pressure.
