Definition:

Angina is the term used to describe a classic set of symptoms including chest pain, sweating, and shortness of breath, which indicates a problem with blood delivery to the heart.

Angina is typically classified as stable (symptoms occur only with activity) or unstable (symptoms occur at rest). Unstable angina is dangerous and indicates that some type of corrective procedure may be needed to avoid heart attack.

Unstable angina is a type of acute coronary syndrome.
