In a column published in the April 8th edition of The New York Times, Dr. Elizabeth Nabel, Director of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, discussed five essentials everyone should know about heart disease.
Along with discussing the importance of recognizing symptoms that may indicate heart attack, Dr. Nabel says, "The overwhelming majority of heart disease could be prevented by controlling blood pressure, cholesterol and cigarette smoking."
