High Blood Pressure Causes Most Strokes and Heart Attacks
High blood pressure remains the direct cause of almost 70% of all heart attacks and strokes according to Dr Alexandra Martiniuk, a Research Fellow at The George Institute for International Health. It was recently speculated that improvements in both diagnosis and prevention might edge this number downward, a finding not supported by this research study.
Dr. Martiniuk's research focused on populations in the Asia-Pacific region and included samples from Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Austrailia, among others. Inadequate application of diagnostic factors, as well as poorly structured treatment in parts of Asia are seen as likely contributors to the high numbers revealed in this study.
This new research, to be presented at an upcoming scientific meeting, highlights the vital importance of blood pressure for overall health. Controlling blood pressure is one of the most important and effective ways to reduce the risk of having a stroke or heart attack.

“Controlling blood pressure is one of the most important and effective ways to reduce the risk of having a stroke or heart attack.”
Not only me, but I know most of us will agree with this statement that one of the most fundamental steps to preventing stroke or heart attack is to monitor and control blood pressure. One effective way to realize this objective is through following a healthy lifestyle. Healthy lifestyle includes eating a healthy, balanced meal, exercise, avoiding or better yet totally say no to smoking to name a few. By following this routine, you will be able to prevent more serious health concerns to arise.
